The VAFP contracts with a legislative consultant who keeps the Academy apprised of any legislative or regulatory issues that impact your daily practice of medicine.

The VAFP represents over 3,000 family medicine physicians, family medicine residents and medical students and is the largest medical specialty society in the Commonwealth. The VAFP Annual Meeting & Exposition is held each year and attracts a significant number of family physicians and other healthcare professionals from Virginia and the mid-Atlantic. This year’s meeting will be held at the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center August 4-7 (Exhibit Dates August 5-6). Physicians from throughout Virginia gather at this Annual Meeting to obtain required continuing medical education credits, to network with acquaintances and to learn about the latest developments in products and services. Exhibitors provide invaluable services to the members by sharing in the educational and resource information roles at the meeting. The VAFP offers exhibiting organizations various opportunities for sponsorship.
